Let’s be honest: As writers, we’re all big sponges – we’re copycats and thieves, and we’re constantly looking at (and borrowing from) other writers’ work to make our own stuff fresh and interesting. There’s nothing wrong with scouring the Internet for inspiration, but if you’re on a tight deadline, you don’t always have the time to spend a leisurely afternoon digging for good headline-writing pointers or blogging tips.

And now, you don’t have to. If you aren’t already smitten with sales and marketing blog Grok.com, get ready to fall in love. Check out their “Ultimate Cheat Sheet” – it’s a comprehensive guide to the best copywriting tips on the web, all in one handy place. It’s even broken down into categories like “Readability” and “Blogging” so you can browse by topic.

And, just for fun, here are a few more sites full of information, facts, and inspiring ideas:

Dictionary.com and Thesaurus.com. Okay, so they’re sort of obvious, but I use these resources at least twice a day.

Danpink.com. Daniel Pink’s blog isn’t specifically related to marketing, or copywriting, but it’s full of interesting facts, cool ideas, creativity, and thought-provoking links. Every time I visit, I find at least one idea that sticks with me.
Seth’s blog. Marketing guru Seth Godin’s blog is packed with innovative marketing and branding tips.
MarketingExperiments.com. Very cool resource for email marketing and search optimization.

So, what do you think of Grok.com’s cheat sheet? Where do you go to find inspiration on the web? We’d love to know.

Wonderful information, and yes – many people do it! It’s a good idea that anything you are reading before writing an article – CLOSE IT before beginning to write your original work. It is very helpful to be inspired, but you must make the words – and the idea – your own. Give it a new twist.
