“You’d think they’d mess up ‘dessert’ before spelling ‘dining’ wrong. Maybe they were so concerned about getting dessert right that they didn’t pay attention to the rest of the words. Double consonants make call for a short vowel sign. Isn’t that one of the earliest spelling rules we learn?”

It was for The Write Blog and was called “The Grammar Fail Contest.” Basically you had to take a photo of a sign you saw that had some sort of grammar mistake, write a little blurb about it, and send it in. The prize? A $50 gift card to Amazon and a link back to your site. Since it didn’t sound like too much work, I set out to find the perfect grammar fail.
