Celebrating Kindness on Pay it Forward Day – One Good Deed at a Time

At The Writers For Hire, we believe kindness is contagious—and Pay it Forward Day gave us the perfect reason to spread it far and wide. This year, we took the celebration to the next level with a month-long, team-building BINGO game dreamed up by our fearless leader, Wintress Odom, and her right-hand woman, Kathy Rinchiuso. Their brilliant twist? Turning everyday good deeds into feel-good fun.
The rules were simple: do something kind, report it to the group, and earn a BINGO number draw. Three times a week, we tallied the acts of kindness and drew the same number of BINGO balls. The more kindness we spread, the closer we got to a win—and the more joy we shared along the way.
From tipping generously and helping neighbors to sending uplifting texts and rescuing worms from a tragic fate, our team showed up with open hearts and big smiles. Some of our favorite highlights? A teammate complimenting a woman’s fresh haircut at the salon. Another braving a 4:30 a.m. jog to support a struggling friend. And yes—someone even surrendered to the chaos of a toddler armed with confetti eggs. Talk about bravery!
The game sparked more than just BINGO wins—it sparked stories, laughter, and connection. Each good deed, no matter how small, drew us closer together and reminded us of the ripple effect a little kindness can have. Whether it was complimenting a barista’s nail art, babysitting a cousin’s toddler, or buying coffee for a stranger, every act mattered.
Pay it Forward Day may only come once a year, but thanks to Wintress and Kathy’s heartwarming creation, its spirit will stick with us much longer. We’re already counting down to next year’s round—but until then, we’ll keep the kindness rolling. After all, you never know whose day you’ll brighten next.
